Bio

Jeremy Houston Roden is a Professor and Program Director for Interactive Simulation & Game Technology at Richland College in Dallas Texas, a Malcolm Baldrige National Quality Award winning institution.

Jeremy studied sculpture and drawing at The University of North Texas: College of Visual Arts & Design where he and John McInnis, now with Dreamworks, routinely collaborated on creative projects while teaching themselves Softimage.

As a freelance artist, Jeremy worked in film and video production, game cinematics and 3-D simulation. His professional credits include CG lighting and special effects on Paramount Pictures/Nickelodeon’s Oscar-nominated film “Jimmy Neutron” as well as 3D layout for two television episodes of the series.

Throughout his professional work in the CG industry, Jeremy volunteered his time to advocate computer graphics education in Texas schools. This experience caused him to pursue a career in higher education full time. He completed his Masters in Education Administration from Concordia University in Austin and is working towards a Ph.D at the University of Texas at Dallas in Arts & Technology.

Currently, Jeremy is wrapping up a book of short stories titled “Halfway” about two adventurous brothers who survived a childhood of poverty in 1950s west Texas.
