Bio

Craig Caldwell is a USTAR Professor in Digital Media at the University of Utah. Previously he was Head of the Griffith Film School (Games, Animation, Film), largest film School in Australia. He received his Ph.D. from the Advanced Computing Center for Art and Design at Ohio State University. He earned an MFA is in Art from University of Florida. His industry experience has been working for Walt Disney Feature Animation in Burbank, CA and Electronic Arts.

Craig has presented at a number of conferences including SIGGRAPH and College Art Association. His research focus includes how new interactive technologies in digital media integrate narrative structures that are fundamental to how human beings communicate. Today the traditional passive role of the audience is being replaced with a rapidly evolving digital interactive role.
