Colleen Wheeler McCreary is the Chief People Officer at Zynga. She was previously the Global Director of Strategic Education and Outreach Initiatives for Electronic Arts (EA), the world’s largest interactive entertainment software company based in Redwood City, CA., where McCreary managed the EA team focusing on academic relationships, diversity, and community outreach for the company. She built the University Relations team which partners with academia on curriculum recommendations and the program for finding, recruiting, and retaining new university graduate and intern talent around the world.
Prior to her role at EA, McCreary was a senior technical recruiter for six years on the Microsoft College Recruiting team where she built the first college recruiting program across all of Microsoft’s US field offices and partnered with over 50 universities. She also worked as a Technical Support Manager managing a team of 29 engineers providing technical support on the Windows product line for Microsoft’s Fortune 500 customers.
McCreary has been featured in a number of articles regarding her work including The Wall Street Journal, The Boston Globe, Information Week, MTV.com, and CNET. She holds a Bachelors degree in communications from Boston University and a Masters degree in Higher Education Administration from Columbia University, where she focused her thesis work on the retention of women in engineering and computer science programs.
