Synopsis

In this presentation we will look how the IDGA frame work can be used to develop a community college curriculum that serves the needs of students who wish to matriculate to the university while ensuring those who wish to enter industry are ready.  We will discuss the differences in Game Development, Game Design, Game Programming, are Game Art.  We will discuss how you can develop of an associate’s degree program capable of increasing the supply and quality of craftsmen for one of the fastest growing amalgams of the information science, technology, and entertainment fields. The result of the three year NSF grant “Digital Interactive Entertainment and Simulation Technology: A new curriculum and source of professional workforce for the digital gaming and simulation industry” will be provided.
