Presentation Summary:

Who is Noesis, what we have to offer and why we feel strongly that it is beneficial. Jeremy Roden from Richland Community College will discuss his experience using Noesis materials to prepare his students for degrees in partner 4 year schools and local game industry careers.

Paper Abstract:

This session discusses the use of video-based learning materials as part of a larger game production curriculum. Early engagement is achieved by immersing students in project-based exercises, with the tools component taught largely outside the classroom. This allows instructors to spend more in-class time teaching creative and conceptual understanding. These learning materials, balanced with motivated faculty, will ultimately result in graduates better prepared in adapting to and problem solving, the challenges of today's daily production pipeline.
