About Game Education Summit US 2010
The Game Education Summit provides conference sessions and networking to college and university programs that offer game development and design degrees as well as the various industries that work on game development including the entertainment sector, government, medical, military and various aspects of serious games.
Program Directors and academics from both established programs as well as those programs going through the creation process attend the Game Education Summit to learn how game education programs have been developed and what the latest trends are in game education including curriculum and funding and to hear the latest research being developed in the game programs. There is also a focus on a future vision for game education that is discussed during the keynotes.
Staff from game entertainment and serious games companies or organizations attend the Game Education Summit to form a direct link with game education programs and learn of the trajectory for serious games and the future of game education.
All of the attendees also benefit from networking at the Summit that allows both industry and academics to learn from each other and create mutually beneficial relationships in technology development, hiring of graduates and funding or specific projects.
The content for the GES sessions is generated both by submissions to the website of papers as well as invited speakers. Keynote speakers are also selected by Suzanne Freyjadis or the Advisory Board. All paper submissions are reviewed by the advisory board and the program is created based on the focus and overall theme presented by the submissions.
Speakers are granted a gratis admission to the conference and the papers and presentations that are selected are available for viewing after the conference.
Networking opportunities are available during lunch and coffee breaks as well as during the reception on the opening night of the Summit.
There will be companies and organizations that sponsor GES and there will be 4 booth sponsorships available.
